Fire Alarm & Detection Systems for Maharashtra Industries & Commercial Buildings | FirePause
Early detection is the difference between a small, easily extinguished fire and a catastrophic blaze. A properly designed and maintained fire alarm system gives occupants the earliest possible warning, initiates evacuation procedures, and can trigger automatic suppression systems — all within seconds of a fire starting. FirePause provides complete fire alarm and detection system solutions across Maharashtra, from design and installation to testing and annual maintenance contracts (AMC).
Types of Fire Alarm Systems We Install
1. Conventional Fire Alarm Systems
Best for: Small to medium buildings (up to 4–5 floors), single-occupancy premises, budget-conscious projects.
How it works: Detectors and manual call points are grouped into zones (typically one zone per floor or per logical area). The control panel indicates which zone has triggered — but not the exact device.
Advantages: Lower cost, simpler to install, easier for small buildings.
Disadvantages: Does not pinpoint exact location of fire; slower response than addressable systems.
2. Addressable Fire Alarm Systems
Best for: Medium to large buildings, high-rises, hospitals, hotels, data centres, industrial facilities (mandatory for buildings >15m under NBCS 2026).
How it works: Each detector, MCP, and input/output module has a unique address. The control panel displays the exact device that triggered — down to the room and floor.
Advantages: Pinpoints fire location, faster response, easier troubleshooting, fewer false alarms, remote diagnostics.
Disadvantages: Higher upfront cost (but lower long-term maintenance).
3. Addressable Analogue Addressable Systems (Advanced)
Best for: Large campuses, critical facilities (data centres, hospitals), buildings requiring BMS integration.
How it works: Each device transmits analogue values (e.g., smoke obscuration level, temperature) — the control panel evaluates trends to identify pre-alarm conditions before full alarm.
Key Components We Supply & Install
Smoke Detectors
- Photoelectric smoke detectors: Best for smouldering fires (common in residential, offices, hotels).
- Ionisation smoke detectors: Best for fast-flaming fires (kitchens, industrial areas).
- Multi-sensor detectors: Combine smoke + heat + CO for the lowest false alarm rate — recommended for premium projects.
Heat Detectors
- Fixed-temperature heat detectors: Trigger at 57°C or 68°C — for kitchens, boiler rooms, dusty areas.
- Rate-of-rise heat detectors: Trigger when temperature rises faster than 8–12°C per minute.
- Combination heat detectors: Both fixed-temp and rate-of-rise — the preferred choice.
Manual Call Points (Break-Glass)
- Red, break-glass units at each floor exit and along corridors (maximum 30m travel distance).
- Weatherproof versions for outdoor locations.
- Key-operated reset (for authorised personnel).
Alarm Devices (Sounders & Strobes)
- Sounders (hooters): Minimum 75 dBA at 1m — distinct pattern (not same as class bell).
- Strobes (visual alarms): For hearing-impaired occupants — mandatory in public buildings under NBCS 2026.
- Voice sounders (speakers): For voice evacuation systems (pre-recorded or live messages).
Control Panels (FACP)
- Battery backup (24-hour standby + 1-hour alarm).
- Event log (printer or digital).
- Remote monitoring capability (connection to fire brigade or security control room).
VESDA (Aspirating Smoke Detection) — For Critical Areas
For data centres, clean rooms, archives, and museums, VESDA provides detection 1,000 times more sensitive than conventional detectors — detecting a fire in its pre-combustion stage. FirePause designs, installs, and commissions VESDA systems from Xtralis and Honeywell.
FirePause Installation Process
- Site survey & design: We assess your building layout, ceiling heights, occupancy, and hazard areas. We design a system per IS 2189:2008, with detector spacing, MCP locations, and panel placement.
- Equipment supply: We provide premium brands (Honeywell, Notifier, Bosch, Hochiki, or Indian equivalents like Agni Suraksha based on budget). All equipment carries ISI/CE/EN certification.
- Cabling & installation: Fire-resistant cabling (FS/FR or equivalent) installed in conduits or cable trays. Detectors, MCPs, and sounders mounted at correct heights and spacing.
- Panel programming & commissioning: We program the panel with zone maps, device labels, cause-and-effect logic (e.g., "if any smoke detector on floor 5 activates, sound alarm on floors 4, 5, 6").
- Testing & handover: We test every detector (smoke test), every MCP, and every sounder/strobe. We provide as-built drawings, device schedule, and user manual.
Fire Alarm System AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract)
NBCS 2026 and IS 2189 require documented maintenance for fire alarm systems. FirePause AMC includes:
- Monthly: Visual inspection of panel (check for faults), check battery voltage, review event log.
- Quarterly: Test 25% of detectors (smoke test or sensitivity test), test all MCPs, test all sounders/strobes.
- Annually: Test 100% of detectors (complete system test), battery capacity test (1-hour alarm), panel firmware update (if applicable), comprehensive report.
- 24/7 emergency response: For any panel faults, device failures, or false alarm issues.
All AMC services are documented with signed reports — audit-ready.
Why Choose FirePause for Fire Alarms?
Certified Engineers
Our installation and service engineers are trained and certified by equipment manufacturers (Honeywell, Bosch, Notifier).
Custom Cause-and-Effect Programming
We do not just install equipment — we program intelligent cause-and-effect logic that reduces false alarms and ensures appropriate occupant notification (evacuation of fire floor + floors above/below).
Integration with Other Systems
We can integrate the fire alarm system with:
- Sprinkler system (water flow switches trigger alarm).
- Gas suppression system (pre-discharge alarm).
- Building Management System (BMS) for central monitoring.
- Public address system (voice evacuation).
- Smoke extraction fans (automatic activation).
Client Testimonial — Fire Alarm System
Mr. Anil Deshmukh, Plant Manager, Chemical Facility – Thane: "FirePause replaced our obsolete alarm panel with a new addressable system. The installation was smooth, and the new system pinpointed a faulty detector that had been causing false alarms for years — something our previous vendor couldn't solve. Excellent technical support."
