How long must emergency escape lights stay on during power failure?
We are installing backup exit lighting in our hospital in Nashik. What is the legal battery backup runtime required for exit pathway lights?

Under hospital safety codes and NBC guidelines, emergency escape pathway lighting and illuminated exit signs in healthcare buildings must have battery packs that provide at least 90 minutes of continuous illumination at a minimum intensity of 10 lux along the escape path. For intensive care units (ICUs) and operating theatres, higher runtimes and generator automatic switch-over times under 15 seconds are required.
