What is Form B and who is authorized to sign it in Maharashtra?
Our commercial complex board in Thane received a notice for Form B submission. What is this form, and can any local plumber or technician sign it, or does it require a special license?

Form B is a Certificate of Maintenance and Compliance under Section 3 of the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act. It certifies that the installed fire protection systems are active and functional.
Only government-licensed fire agencies (approved by the Directorate of Maharashtra Fire Services) are legally authorized to test the systems and sign Form B. A standard plumber or local service vendor cannot issue this. It must be submitted to the local Fire Station Officer twice a year (January and July).
