What is the fire rating requirement for fire doors in high-rise escapes?
We are buying fire doors for the exit staircases of our commercial project in Borivali. What rating is required? The supplier has 1-hour and 2-hour doors.

Under NBC 2016 Part 4, fire doors installed at the entrance of fire escape staircases and lift lobbies in high-rise commercial structures must have a minimum 2-hour fire-resistance rating (conforming to IS 3614). A 1-hour door is only permitted inside partition walls or low-height residential stairways. Always ensure the door assembly comes with a testing laboratory test tag.
