Fire Extinguishers

What size fire extinguisher is recommended for a home kitchen?

I live in a residential society in Dadar. I want to buy a fire extinguisher specifically for my kitchen. What size and type is best? Is dry powder or carbon dioxide recommended?

For a residential kitchen, a 2kg ABC Dry Powder or a 2kg Carbon Dioxide (CO2) extinguisher is highly recommended. ABC powder is versatile for trash or electrical fires. However, for cooking oil fires (Class K/F), a Wet Chemical extinguisher or a certified Fire Blanket is the absolute best solution because powder can blow hot oil out of the pan.

I bought a simple fire blanket and a 2kg CO2 extinguisher for my kitchen. CO2 is great because it leaves no chemical powder on the food prep areas. Clean up is very easy.
