HFC-236fa (Hexafluoropropane), commercially known as FE-36, is a clean gas that leaves zero residue, is non-conductive, and is highly effective at chemical cooling and smothering.
Regarding toxicity: It is considered safe for occupied spaces when used in standard concentration levels. However, in small unventilated rooms, discharging it can displace oxygen, so immediate evacuation is advised. It has zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), making it an eco-friendly replacement for Halon, though it does carry a Global Warming Potential (GWP).
