Unlike standard extinguishers which can react violently with burning metals, this specialized unit uses a unique sodium chloride-based (NaCl) or copper powder formulation that forms a crust over the burning metal, excluding oxygen and absorbing heat.

⚠️ CRITICAL NOTE: Never use water, CO₂, or standard ABC extinguishers on metal fires - they can cause violent explosions or spread the fire.

The sodium chloride agent flows from the extinguisher in a gentle, non-dispersing stream. When it contacts the burning metal surface:

  1. The heat melts the agent's thermoplastic additive
  2. Molten agent spreads across the burning metal surface
  3. Upon cooling, it forms a solid, cohesive crust
  4. This crust excludes atmospheric oxygen
  5. Provides heat absorption and cooling effect
  6. Prevents re-ignition of the metal
